Next expected Express Draw

April 14, 2022

Type of Express Entry Draw

Provincial Nominee Program

  • Immigration Level Plan 2022-2024:
    - 2022: 431,645 Permanent Residents (55,900 under Express Entry)
    - 2023: 447,055 Permanent Residents (75,750 under Express Entry)
    - 2024: 451,000 Permanent Residents (111,500 under Express Entry)

  • We forecast PNP only draws until July 2022 due to the backlog of more than 1.8 million applications and an internal IRCC briefing memo (Learn more at Is Express Entry Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skilled Worker Paused for 2022?)
  • Express Entry CRS scores are forecasted to be above 500 when they begin draws for other programs in July 2022
  • Potential changes to Express Entry: Immigration Minister Sean Fraser has explained that there is a possibility of occupation-specific draws in the future

  2. After the pandemic started in 2019, IRCC has been focusing more on Canadian Experience Class and Provincial Nominee Programs.

  3. With the growing number of Express Entry candidates, Canada is becoming more selective with who they invite. This ties into the narrative that IRCC may be considering occupation specific draws according to the specific labour market needs of Canada.
