In order to be an effective Regulated Canadian Immigrant Consultant, you have to go over and above to help people according to ImmiSeach's partner Regulated Canadian Immigrant Consultant Ankita Goyal. Ankita Goyal, owner of Immigracia Visa Consulting, immigrated to Canada in 2018 and said her interest in becoming an Immigrant Consultant stemmed from her own research and experience immigrating to Canada.

Ankita Goyal’s Immigration Discovery

“When I was looking to immigrate to Canada and looking for a consultant myself, I found that there were lots of people charging hefty fees but they were not giving appropriate advice in return,” said Ankita.

“I wanted to help people, protect my family from these fraudulent agents. During this process, I gained a lot of interest in becoming a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant and decided to make it my career.”

Specialization

Ankita Goyal became a Regulated Immigration Consultant in 2020 and open her own consulting firm: Immigracia Visa Consulting. Her specialization has grown in a short time to include: Study Permit, Family Sponsorship, Super Visa, Visitor Visa, eTA, Transit Visa, Express Entry, International Experience Class (IEC), Work Permit, Live-in Caregivers, Business/Self-Employed, BC PNP, Citizenship, Overcoming Inadmissibility. She is also fluent in English, Hindi and Punjabi. Ankita Goyal describes herself as a consultant who is well informed of the federal, provincial rules and regulations that may impact my clients, including changes that happen within these rules and regulations from time to time.

“I constantly educate my clients about the practicalities and complexities of immigration law. I also provide institutional clients with immigration law seminars, as well as annual complimentary on-site educational and training sessions for human resources personnel and managers.”

Ankita Goyal said she works tirelessly to provide the highest level of service to individuals, corporations, non-profits, universities, and other institutions across the nation and around the world. The reason why she cares so much is because she treats each client's case like it’s her own.

“I really emphasize with people a lot and I really put a lot of effort into it. They are putting faith in me to put forth a good application on their behalf. Ankita Goyal said Canada’s multicultural diversity is something she enjoyed the most when she moved here in 2018.

“It is really great to meet people from different cultures, speaking different languages and getting to know their side of the story,” said Ankita Goyal. “It’s great to be in an environment that is so full of such cross-cultural activities.”

How to find accurate information

One of the areas that Ankita Goyal is passionate about is providing advice on how to watch out for fraudulent agents who are out to make a fast buck off of immigrants wanting to immigrate to Canada. She said checking the consultant’s name and license number on the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC) website is one step. Another is being aware that an unregulated agent acting on their behalf cannot give legal advice. Ankita Goyal suspects people from her own country of India may fall victim because of cheaper fees and because they trust meeting someone in person rather than dealing with a consultant online. She said a lot of the time people in foreign countries don’t know that immigration consultants have to be regulated and praised ImmiSearch that they are advertising that information and getting it out there so immigrants don’t fall victim.

Always work on upgrading skills

Ankita Goyal of Immigracia Visa Consulting said the best advice she can provide to newcomers to Canada is work on job skills, find a study group to help improve CRB scores before they apply. Also to exercise patience, always be prepared and be able to mentally prepare for challenges when they settle as permanent residents in Canada.

“It will take a little effort to find jobs. You might struggle a little but you should not lose patience and don’t put all your eggs in one basket”

“I’ve seen lots of people disheartened when they can’t find a job right away when they arrive in Canada. They have to be mentally prepared to face some hardships.”

Ankita Goyal said in most cases, the experience gets better.
